THIS EVENT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED AND I HEAR IT WAS FANTASTIC!
Spike Events Canada (A division of Eckess Enterprises Inc.) presents the Vancouver 80s Rock Reunion, (V80RR) Thursday, May 17, 2012.
Men can enjoy the Manhole while ladies get Lovely Linda's Ladies Night out. (have a look at this video for a better understanding of the layout of the club: four floors, five bars and a unisex washroom that has a bar and a dancefloor!)
Did you party at Outlaws, the Metro, Club Soda or any other of the other great clubs in the Lower Mainland in the '80s? If so, this is a party made just for you!
Bring your daughters, heck bring your granddaughters too, for the time of their lives! There's going to be lots of prizes and surprises. And … if you can handle it… there will be special guest appearances by your favourite male exotic dancers from the '80s, and some from today as well.
Then at 10 p.m. the guys and gals join up for Lisa's All Star Jam with many favourites including host band the Ray Roper Project with special guest host Darby Mills.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $50 at the door. Doors open at 8 p.m. at 560 Seymour Street.
Tickets and other information available online - click here.
V80RR is also having a Silent Auction to raise money for a wonderful cause.
It will help Elementary School kids within the lower mainland to a greater opportunity for learning, to play and take part in a music program. It would seem that most of the government funding cutbacks have greatly affected extracurricular activities such as music programs in our local schools. V80RR is presently researching this, to establish which elementary school or schools in the lower mainland are in the greatest need.
If anyone has anything they would like to donate for the silent auction, or knows of a school in need of our help or has any contacts in the supply or distribution of musical instruments or music books please contact any of the event organizers, Lisa, Linda or Darby
Renowned airbrush artist Paul Archer has agreed to paint a couple of canvases live on the night of the event.
So come on out - party like it's still the '80s!
